Worship - Part 2

John 4:23-24 NIV

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.  God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

Exodus 20:3-5 NIV

"You shall have no other gods before me. "You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord  your God, am a jealous God."

Since the very beginning, God has made it clear that He is the one and should be the only one that we worship.

Worship truly matters to God, it is the most vital part in our relationship with Him.

Worship is an act of religious devotion usually directed towards a deity. The word is derived from the Old English worthscipe, meaning worthiness or worth-ship — to give, at its simplest, worth to something.[1]

We worship God because He is worthy. Why?

Revelation 5:9 NLT

And they sang a new song with these words:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and break its seals and open it.
For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation."

Evelyn Underhill (2001) defines worship thus: "The absolute acknowledgment of all that lies beyond us—the glory that fills heaven and earth. It is the response that conscious beings make to their Creator, to the Eternal Reality from which they came forth; to God, however they may think of Him or recognize Him, and whether He be realized through religion, through nature, through history, through science, art, or human life and character."[2] Worship asserts the reality of its object and defines its meaning by reference to it.[3]

We are to worship God in the knowledge and revelation of who He is.
Only by this, our worship would not be affected by any sort of circumstances used by our enemy to rob our joy and ruin our connection to God.

We are to worship God in the midst of our trials.

True worshipers are not classified by their present circumstances. True worshipers are classified by their heart toward God, by their affection, by their passion and by their identity as God's redeemed.

True worshipers are the kind of worshiper that the Father seeks.

If we just know Him. Worship will not become so awkward.

If we desire to know Him and get to know Him then desire to know Him better. Worship will be our greatest pleasure.

Worship is now. Let's make it a lifestyle while we are living here on earth.

Revelation 5:14 AMP

Then the four living creatures (beings) said, Amen (so be it)! And the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] prostrated themselves and worshiped  Him Who lives forever and ever.
