Crown of Life

James 1:2 NLT

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

James 1:4 MSG

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

James 1:5, 12 NLT

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Four things that I have learned from these verses:

1. Mindset
When troubles comes, we have to consider it an opportunity for great joy

2. Purpose
Only when we are under pressure, we can see who we really are. God allows certain trials for us to face in order to reveal what's in the inside. Trials forced our faith-life into the open.

3. Solution
- Don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work.
- Come to God. Ask for wisdom.

☆Our attitude when we come and ask God:
a. Focus on God's character not us.
Be God conscious not sin conscious.

b. Believe and do not doubt.
Dare to believe. Stand on the Word.

4. Result
a. God blesses those we patiently endure testing and temptation
b. We will receive the crown of life that God has promised us

Revelation 3:10-11 NIV

Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.  I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
